Volunteers Needed
Friends in Action in Ellsworth needs volunteers - preferably those available to provide rides and run errands to clients living Downeast, and also to Stoningtin. The organization is also seeking volunteers who can help people in their homes with running errands, minor home maintenance and simply friendly calls just to check in. Ellsworth Community Music Institute (ECMI) offers its next Midday Concert @ 1:00 on February 10th with the ECMI String Trio; comprised of ECMI faculty Richard Hsu, violin; Kevin Morse, guitar and Aija Kante-Cahn, cello. Lasagna is coming once again on Tuesday, Feb 14 from 5 to 7 pm at the Sorrento-Sullivan Rec Center in Sullivan. Free but donations welcome and will be raised for the Rec Center and Community assistance programs. Salads, Lasagnas of all types, garlic bread and gluten free as well and desserts. The 10th Annual Mountain View Youth Sport Winter Fest takes place on Saturday, February 18th from 5am to 5pm on Flander's Pond. in Sullivan. There'll be an ice fishing derby for all ages, ten dollars a ticket for each entry, with LOTS of door prizes available. All Winterfest proceeds raise money to buy sports equipment for the Mountain View Youth Sports program.
