Veterans’ Remembrance 4 Miler in Ellsworth
Mark your race schedule calendar for the DE Family YMCA Veterans' Remembrance 4 Miler taking place on Sunday, November 6th. This is a race to honor past and present Veterans. Registration begins at 8:00am, Run/Walk starts at 9:00am. $20.00 pre registration until Nov 3rd and $25.00 Race Day registration. The City of Ellsworth's Annual Food Drive is going on between now and November 16th. Bring your non-perishable food items to Ellsworth City Hall during regular business hours. Your donations go to Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, and you get a chance to sign up for a drawing for a 25-dollar gift certificate to a local restaurant of your choice. For more info, call 669-6630.

Tickets are on sale now for the Milbridge Public Library's “Century Heating” Wood Stove Raffle. Tickets are 10-dollars and are available at the Milbridge Town Office or from any Library board member. Winner will be drawn Wednesday, November 23rd.

The next meeting of the Searsport Historical Society is taking place on Tuesday, November 8th, 7pm at the Searsport United Methodist Church. Guest speaker is Ray Seamans whose presenting topic is pertaining to "Mechanic Hollow" which is the area on Route 1, east of the center of Searsport. This meeting is free and open to the public.

The Jonesboro Union Church invites you to their Chowder and Song Fest, Wednesday evening (11/9) at the Chandler River Community Center. Chowder is served at 5 pm, followed by singing songs of the sea at 6 pm. Admission is by donation.

Calling all veterans! On Friday, November 11th, Ellsworth Elks Lodge #2743 invites all veterans to a day of FREE meals. Breakfast starts at 6, lunch at 11 and dinner goes from 4 to 7. The lodge is located at 317 High Street in Ellsworth. For more information, call the lodge at: 667-7987.
