Benefit Concert in Surry
Ellas & Fellas will perform a concert of contemporary a cappella music to benefit the Surry Rural Hall at 7 pm on Sunday, August 28. Suggested donation is $10 and masks are preferred. The location is 680 Surry Road.

The volunteer, nonprofit group Waldo County Woodshed distributes FREE one quarter cord piles of firewood for short term heating assistance during the winter months. Wood's available on a first come, first served basis with wood yards available in Searsmont, Waldo, Monroe, Frankfort, Searsport, Belfast, Thorndike and Brooks. Apple Orchard Tour in Blue Hill
The historic Jonathan Fisher House, located at 44 Mines Road, Route 172 in Blue Hill, is hosting special tours of the apple orchard on Saturday, September 3rd from 1 to 4. Guides will discuss Fisher's original design and you'll tour the orchard that was re-established 20 years ago. Orchard tours are free, however, donations are welcome. Tours of the historic Jonathan Fisher House are available before or after visiting the orchard.

The Jonathan Fisher House at 44 Mines Rd. in Blue Hill is offering a special free outdoor tour of its historic orchard on Saturday, September 3rd from 1-4. Leslie Cummins will guide visitors through the reconstructed orchard and discuss Fisher’s original design and planting. The Fisher homestead will also be open for tours with a suggested $10 donation. If you or someone you know are in need heating assistance this winter can call Downeast Community Partners to schedule an appointment to apply for the income-based Heating and Energy Assistance Program, or HEAP.
