Wine and Whiskers in Bar Harbor
The SPCA of Hancock County in Trenton is holding its 9th Annual Wine & Whiskers fundraiser on Tuesday, July 26th starting at 5:30pm at the Bar Harbor Club on West Street in Bar Harbor. Tickets are $150 each which includes hors d'oeuvres and a three course dinner. All proceeds support the operation of the shelter. Make reservations online at: Spca hancock county dot org.

The Hancock Woman’s Club‘s annual chicken barbecue is back Sat July 30, 11:30 to 1:00. All are welcome. A kid’s meal of hotdog, chips, drink and dessert will also be available. The cost is $15 for a 1/2 chicken meal, $10 for 1/4 and $5 for the kid’s hot dog meal. The event takes place at the Hancock Community Center, 1416 US HWY 1 in Hancock. Proceeds help fund the Club’s scholarships and children’s programs.

The Down East Family YMCA is holding its First Annual Summer Dance Party under a big top tent on Saturday, July 30th. Doors open at 630 with a cocktail/social hour. Christian Music Share will be on Thursday, August 4th, 6-8 p.m. and will continue to be the 1st Thursday of each month. Location is the Cherryfield Academy Community Center, 53 Main Street, Cherryfield, first floor. Come sign up to sing, play music or both or come to listen. Donations at the door will go into the CACC Programming Fund.

On Friday, August 5th, at 7pm, the Hancock Historical Society welcomes Cipperly Good, curator of the Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport, who will present a program themed around women and the sea. Using letters, manuscripts and newspaper articles, the talk will focus on their experiences at sea.
