The Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport invites you to “Ripped from the Headlines” – tales of bravery, shipwrecks and courage at sea which takes place Thursday, June 30th beginning at 5pm. Cost is $10 at the door and $8 per person if pre-registered. Volunteer actors give dramatic readings and reenact newspaper stories of high seas adventures. Timed tickets start every 10 minutes. The 1814 Jonathan Fisher House Museum located at 44 Mines Road, Rte 172 in Blue Hill, opens for tours on Wed July 6th. It will be open every Wednesday through Saturday from 1 to 4 through September 3rd. Group tours can be accomodated by calling the museum at 374-2459.

The historic Jonathan Fisher House, located at 44 Mines Road, Route 172 in Blue Hill, is hosting special tours of the apple orchard on Saturday, July 9th from 1 to 4. Guides will discuss Fisher's original design and you'll tour the orchard that was re-established 20 years ago. Orchard tours are free, however, donations are welcome. Tours of the historic Jonathan Fisher House are available before or after visiting the orchard.
