The Ellsworth School Department would like the community to be aware of the new entrance to Ellsworth High School. While the old entrance still exists, its purpose is to be used by first responders in the event of an emergency, or people traveling to the baseball field or tennis courts. A traffic light blinking at the new intersection of Route 1A, Lejok Street [LEE jock], and Forest Avenue will be tested by a Maine DOT subcontractor, and the new traffic light will be activated before the first day of school. Freshmen at EHS begin school on Tuesday, September 5th while sophomores, juniors, and seniors start on September 6th.
