ArtWaves and the Wendell Gilley Museum are teaming up for a Fall Handworks Festival Nov. 5-16 on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Carve a butternut comfort bird or a greenwood spoon; explore advanced knitting techniques; learn Coptic bookbinding or ribbed basketmaking; weave a heart bundle; or make a stained glass suncatcher, a felted rug, or a cornhusk doll.

This is a pilot program generously sponsored by Machias Savings Bank and Bar Harbor Bank &
Trust. Some of the classes happen at ArtWaves in Town Hill, and some happen at the Gilley in Southwest Harbor.

Registration is open now. Sign-ups and payment are through the ArtWaves online calendar at www.artwavesmdi.org. If you have any questions, contact Melinda Rice-Schoon at mel@wendellgilleymuseum.org or Nikki Moser at nikki@artwavesmdi.org.
