A talk “Fisheries Restoration in Maine: A Closer Look at River Herring” will take place on Tuesday, Sept 19 at 5:30 pm at the Southwest Harbor Public Library. Learn why river herring are vitally important to the ecology of freshwater, estuarine and marine environments along Maine’s. Hear about efforts to monitor and restore alewife runs in Maine’s rivers and streams and how healthy native fisheries tie our communities to the sea.
