Brian Henkel, Wild Acadia Project coordinator for the National Park Service, will give a talk titled “Great Meadow Flooding in 2018” on Thursday May 3 at 7 pm at the Jesup Memorial Library in Bar Harbor. In January of this year, a combination of unusual weather extremes and hydrologic conditions led to flooding and freezing of the Great Meadow in Acadia National Park. Henkel will talk about the circumstances that led to ice covering nearly 100 acres of Acadia.  For more information, call the library at 288-4245.
