Local authors John and Marlene Daley will discuss their recent book, “History of Taunton Bay: Mining, Shipping & Diving; Franklin, Hancock & Sullivan,” on Thursday Oct 11 at 6 pm at the Ellsworth Public Library. Their diving expeditions have led to the discovery of artifacts from shipwrecks in Taunton Bay. They have also explored underwater mining shafts used for mining silver, gold, copper and nickel in the late 1870s.
