Plastic Waste Discussion at Southwest Harbor Public Library

  • This event has passed.

January 9, 2018 @ 5:30 pm

A Climate to Thrive’s Zero Waste Committee and Madelyn Woods, marine research coordinator for the Marine and Environmental Research Institute, will facilitate a community discussion on how to tackle single use plastic packaging on Tues Jan 9 at 5:30 pm at the Southwest Harbor Public Library. This is a problem we can no longer avoid since it makes up a quarter of the 8 million tons of plastic waste that flows into our oceans each year. Please bring your ideas to share to make our island even more environmentally sustainable. Light refreshments will be provided.  For more information, call the library at 244-7065.
