Woodlawn Museum in Ellsworth is having a talk on fancy nautical weaving and ropework known as “marlinespike work” on Wed July 18 at 6 pm.  Speaker Tim Whitten owns and operates the Marlinespike Chandlery, his studio gallery is located on Deer Isle. This event is being held in the museum’s Sleigh Barn. All lectures are open to the public and free of charge, although donations are appreciated.
