The Touch a Train event is scheduled for Sat June 9 from 9 to 1 pm at the Washington Junction Railyard in Hancock. The event will take place rain or shine and admission is free. Sit in a diesel locomotive cab! Ride the caboose “hop”! Explore railroad equipment and meet the steam locomotive 470 restoration crew. Blow the whistle and ring the bell! Hats and T-shirts will be available as well as free Governor’s treats, an electric train display and more. Donations to restore Maine Central 470 will be gratefully accepted.
