“Wicked Plants” Talk Online

As part of the Ellsworth Public Library schedule of National Endowment for the Arts Big Read events, “The Drunken Botanist” author Amy Stewart will speak about her book “Wicked Plants: The Weed That Killed Lincoln’s Mother & Other Botanical Atrocities” at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, in an online presentation. A vine that strangles, a leaf that triggered a war and glistening red seed that stops the heart are among these menacing botanicals featured in the book.  For more information, call the library at 667-6363.
