The volunteer, nonprofit group Waldo County Woodshed distributes FREE one quarter cord piles of firewood for short term heating assistance during the winter months. If you or someone you know are in need heating assistance this winter can call Downeast Community Partners to schedule an appointment to apply for the income-based Heating and Energy Assistance Program, or HEAP.
