The 17th Annual Carol Dyer Memorial Luminaria Evening for honoring friends and loved ones who are struggling with or have passed away from cancer will take place on the Bar Harbor Village Green on Saturday, Aug 4, from 7-9:30 pm. Luminaria bags will be available for purchase for a suggested donation of $10 each. Proceeds from the event will benefit Home Cooked Healing, a local group of volunteers who provide nutritious home-cooked meals for people who have cancer. This event is being sponsored by the YWCA of Mount Desert Island. For more information, call 288-5008
